My approach to three-dimensional public art is large-scale and site-specific sculpture. I work in a combination of durable, low maintenance materials including stainless steel, oxidized steel and stone but all are combined with my primary material, dichroic glass. The reflective surface of the glass changes color with the angle of the light and the perspective of the viewer. An ever-changing panorama of color is reflected and transmitted onto the surroundings, integrating the sculpture with its environment and keeping the viewer interested and engaged.
My experience includes many public art sculptures, corporate art projects and private commissions since 1987. I am experienced in large projects and enjoy the challenge of design and attention to detail. Site requirements and safety issues are always considered. The materials used are durable and unaffected by weather conditions. The dichroic coating is fused within the plate glass to achieve a safe thickness and will never chip, fade or deteriorate in any way.
Each sculpture is designed to relate specifically to the function and activities of the site. Visual movement is a hallmark of my work and important to my core concept of the inevitability of change. The intent of each design is to intrigue the viewer and provide a timeless, vibrant and enduring piece of contemporary art.
